Cookie Policy

How Spexx uses cookies and similar technologies, and the choices you have.

Last updated: [Effective date]

This Cookie Policy explains how [Spexx Technologies legal name] ("Spexx", "we", "us") uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies when you visit or sign in to our websites and applications under the spexx.in domain. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) and applicable rules made under the Information Technology Act, 2000, including the IT Rules, 2021.

1. What cookies and local storage we use

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. Local storage is a related browser feature that holds data on your device until it is cleared. We use a deliberately small set of these technologies, limited to what is needed to run the service:

  • Essential session cookie (spexx_session). A cookie set on the .spexx.in domain that keeps you signed in across our products as you move between pages. It is required for the service to function and cannot be switched off through our preferences.
  • Authentication tokens in local storage. After you sign in, your browser stores short-lived authentication tokens in local storage so that requests to our servers can be verified without asking you to log in repeatedly. These are tied to your account and are cleared when you sign out.
  • Minimal analytics. We use a limited, privacy-respecting measurement of page views and errors to understand how the service performs. We avoid building advertising or cross-site tracking profiles.

2. Why we use them

We use cookies and local storage for the following purposes:

  • To keep you authenticated and maintain your session securely across Spexx products.
  • To remember basic preferences so the interface behaves consistently.
  • To protect accounts against fraud and abuse, and to keep the service available and reliable.
  • To measure aggregate usage and diagnose errors so we can fix problems and improve performance.

Strictly necessary cookies and tokens are used on the basis that they are required to provide a service you have requested. Where we rely on consent for any non-essential technology, you may withdraw it at any time as described below.

3. Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view what is stored, block or delete cookies for a specific site, and clear local storage. The exact steps vary by browser, so please refer to your browser's help documentation.

Please note that blocking or deleting the essential session cookie or the authentication tokens will sign you out and may prevent core parts of the service from working. Signing out of your account clears the authentication tokens held in local storage on that device.

4. Third parties

We keep third-party technologies to a minimum. Where a third party, such as a hosting, payment, or infrastructure provider, sets a cookie to deliver a function you have requested, that cookie is governed by the relevant provider's own policies. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use third-party advertising cookies to track you across unrelated websites. Any service providers that process personal data on our behalf are bound by contractual obligations consistent with the DPDP and the IT Rules, 2021.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
